Use & House Rules

To ensure your trip is safe, comfortable, and worry-free, CampReady has established a set of clear use and house rules for all rooftop tents and camping equipment. These rules are designed to protect our gear, ensure safety during use, and help you get the most out of your adventure. By renting and using our equipment, you agree to comply with these rules. We recommend reading them carefully before your trip, so you know exactly what is expected and can travel with confidence. If you have any questions about the rules, your vehicle, or your travel plans, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to help.

Usage Rules & House Rules.

These usage and house rules apply to all customers renting a rooftop tent and/or camping equipment from CampReady. They are intended to ensure the safety, durability, and quality of our equipment, while helping you enjoy a comfortable and worry-free trip.

1. Use of the rooftop tent and accessories

  • Before departure, always read the instructions and user manuals for the rooftop tent and accessories. If you are unsure about installation or use, ask for assistance when collecting the equipment.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat and stable surface when setting up the tent.
  • The ladder must be placed firmly and straight, and may not rest on loose stones, sand, mud, or sloped surfaces.
  • Before departure, check the total height of your vehicle including the rooftop tent, taking into account tunnels, parking garages, barriers, and low clearances.
  • Driving with a rooftop tent is permitted up to a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Higher speeds are entirely at the renter’s own risk.

2. Cleaning and maintenance

  • The tent may only be cleaned using clean water. The use of soap, detergents, cleaning agents, or pressure washers is not permitted, as these damage the waterproof coating.
  • Kitchen equipment, cookware, and accessories must be returned clean, dry, and complete.
  • Remove dirt, sand, and mud from the tent and equipment before return.
  • If tents, sleeping bags, kitchen equipment, or other items are returned wet, heavily soiled, or insufficiently cleaned, a cleaning fee of €75 will be charged.

3. Prohibited use and behavior

  • Smoking, open flames, or barbecuing in or directly next to the tent is strictly prohibited. Odors and fire damage may render the tent unsuitable for further rental.
  • The use of sprays such as deodorant, hairspray, or insect repellent inside the tent is not allowed.
  • Pets are not permitted inside the tent, to prevent damage to materials and allergic reactions for other renters.
  • In the event of suspected misuse, improper use, or violation of these rules, CampReady reserves the right to charge additional costs or refuse future rentals.

4. Responsibility and safety

  • The renter is fully responsible for any damage resulting from improper use, negligence, unsafe situations, or failure to follow instructions.
  • The rooftop tent and all accessories remain the property of CampReady at all times. Subleasing or transferring the equipment to third parties is not permitted.
  • The rented equipment may only be used within Europe, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance.

5. Additional rules and tips

  • Gas bottles are not supplied as standard, but can be purchased separately at our location or elsewhere.
  • Do not leave valuable belongings in the tent or vehicle at unattended locations.
  • The primary renter must be at least 25 years old and must have held a valid Category B driving license for a minimum of 5 years.
